As a Technical Program Manager on the WhatsApp team, you will play a key role driving engineering execution, solving complex technical problems, helping to deliver features and infrastructure that power WhatsApp's products. You will tackle meaningful challenges of scale, reliability, efficiency, privacy, and security while delivering a delightful, simple user experience to a global user base.
Identify problems that require solving. Build out and evangelize a compelling long-term technical vision to achieve business success.
Scope problems with a cross-organizational view and translate complex technical details into simple-to-understand communications, while also serving as the golden thread across teams to drive alignment and create cohesion.
Define the technical program or platform strategy, and build a plan with technical dependencies and balance trade-offs to deliver desired outcomes
Drive end-to-end execution and delivery of technical programs from ideation, technical and data analysis, system design, development, testing, and implementation and post-implementation
Drive cross-organization dependencies and alignment, collaborate on success-metrics, and communicate program status with stakeholders to ensure progress on goals
Drive adoption of technologies, often across disparate components of the product and/or infrastructure technical stack, while thinking through how to take current technology to the next level in effective and efficient ways
Look ahead to identify risks and issues in advance where possible, and proactively Investigate, analyze, work hands-on, and partner with cross-functions to mitigate and solve those
B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
Experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery.
Knowledge of user needs, gathering requirements, and defining scope.
Experience operating autonomously across multiple teams, demonstrated critical thinking, and thought leadership.
Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
Organizational, coordination and multi-tasking experience.
Analytical and problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.
Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
Experience with developing Trust, Safety, Integrity, Legal, or Regulatory technology solutions
Experience in building or managing system software components for messaging systems or cloud infrastructure in a large scale environment
Experience with disambiguating technical complexities and cross-functional collaboration into execution plans and operating models
