Getting started with Copilot on macOS
If the Copilot app is not already on your Mac, read how to install Copilot on macOS.
The Copilot app for macOS generally supports the same features available on copilot.microsoft.com, with the following additions:
-
MacOS shortcut key
-
Light and dark mode
-
Device context
Features not currently supported in Copilot for macOS include:
MacOS Shortcut Key
You can bring up Copilot at any time in Windows by pressing Option + Spacebar. A smaller version of the Copilot interface will appear allowing you to type in a prompt.
To change the Copilot app shortcut key, go to Account > Keyboard Shortcut and type in a different shortcut combination. You can also delete the shortcut key to remove it altogether.
Light and Dark Mode
By default, the theme of the Copilot app will automatically match your macOS appearance settings. You can change this behavior by going to Account > App Appearance and changing from Auto to Day or Night.
Device context
Copilot can help answer questions about how to use your Mac. Ask questions like "What shortcut key do I use to take a screenshot?" and Copilot will provide an answer tailored to your current OS.
