Bulk deploy the Teams auto start setting
In the blog post announcing the release of the TeamsBootstrapper.exe utility for deploying the New Teams client for Windows, it references an upcoming "auto start support" feature where the utility could be used to configure Teams to automatically launch when new users sign in for the first time. It's been over a year and there has been no update on this. I posted a comment on the blog post last week but there has been no response. Has this new feature been abandoned? Is there another supported way to do this? (Can I just mount C:\Users\Default\NTUSER.DAT and throw a value in Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce pointing to C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\MSTeams_25072.1609.3541.7814_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\ms-teams.exe ?)44Views0likes0CommentsHide bar at top of teams sharing
Hi all When I share my screen in meetings it involves using a browser i.e. I`m presenting things using google chrome. I get a bar asking me to change my screen size/settings etc on teams. It's frustrating because I have to click away or wait a moment. Hi all In a Teams channel we post tips about Microsoft 365. I want to create a list of those tips with links to the tips. I have tried using Microsoft Lists which looks good and I can categorise each tip ... but clicking on the link doesn't work. The link tries to open Teams .... which it is already. I'm working in user adoption so I don't want solutions that add more clicks. I'd just like for users to be able to click on the link and they go to the tip. The link does work (after a hesitation) if you click on it from SharePoint. But I don't want people to have to open the list in SharePoint. It defeats the object. Also, the export to Excel option to capture the links from the List doesn't work either; the export just shows plain text and not the link. I'll find a way with OneNote or a PDF .... but if anyone has the answer with a List which is theoretically the best option, I'd love to know.1.9KViews0likes2CommentsGrouping chats into folders?
Hi All, Just upgraded to 'new' Teams.... and to be honest was hoping that maybe we would finally be able to group chats into folders (or similar) - but no - nothing really seems any different! Is there any chance at some point we can group chats? At present you have a never ending long list of past chats - which is super unusable! I hope I can explain this properly, please let me know if it isn't clear. OS: macOS Sonoma Teams version: 24277.3502.3161.3007 When I am in a Teams call, I will often need to temporarily switch windows to Chrome or another application. When I tab back to the Teams call, the Main Teams window will pop up on top of the call, which requires me to minimize it in order to view the call window. I haven't been able to find a setting that addresses this specifically. Simplified steps: Join a Teams call from the the primary Teams window or Outlook calendar Switch applications to something else - Slack, Chrome, etc. Click the Teams icon in the dock The Teams call will take focus The Teams main window automatically pops up overlays the call, hiding it Thanks in advance for your help and please let me know if there is anything I can clarify.925Views14likes8Commentsfile upload option disappearing in teams bot
We have Teams bot (we're the developer). When users first start teams, they have the file upload option available under the + button next to the type a message box. However, shortly afterwards, this option disappears. Not all users, just some. Seems to occur for both Mac and Windows users. Hi everyone. I have a pair of Taotronics Soundliberty 79 earbuds. They've pair fine with my laptop running Win 10 and work for listening to music. I've also tested joining a Google Meets meeting and audio works fine in both directions. However, when I join a MS Teams meeting after a minute or two I can no longer hear audio through my earbuds, but the microphone continues to work and others can hear me. I need to go to device settings in Teams and switch to PC speaker/mic then back to the earbuds to restore audio which only lasts a couple of minutes before dropping out again. I am using version "25060.205.3499.6849" I used to be able to use ctrl + mouse scroll or ctrl + = to zoom in, as if I am using a Brower. Somehow I can't do it anymore? I have subscribed to a Teams Premium trial and added the license to a user's account. As global admin, I'm trying to enable automatic recording on ALL Teams meetings for that user. I don't want the user to need to remember to record meetings. In the Teams Admin Center, I open the Global (org-wide default) meeting policy, but there is no option here to automatically record all meetings. Instead, the only option is to enable optional recording, but users still have to manually start recording or enable recording before the meeting starts. If the user forgets to select one of these options, the meeting is not recorded. In the Teams Admin Center, I have created a custom meeting template called 'Coaching'. There is an option called 'Record meetings automatically' with a toggle. That option is disabled. When I hover over it, it says, 'Locked by another option's default value setting'. There is no hint or documentation about which other option is conflicting with the 'Record meetings automatically' option. How do I record all meetings automatically for a user? I have a Skype account. It uses the email address MyEmail.at.myISP, which is also the email address of my Microsoft account. All my contacts know my "MyEmail.at.myISP" email address. When Skype offered to let me port over my Skype account, contacts, chats, and calls to Microsoft Teams, I let it do it. Skype automatically transitioned all the information to a completely separate email address which has no Microsoft account, MyOtherEmail.at.gmail. It created a Microsoft account under that email address. That new MS account contains none of my information... it shows no subscriptions (to MS Office365) or payment info. Not even my name exists there. In other words, Skype totally ignored my Microsoft account information and transitioned everything to a random one of my other email accounts! How do I: Transition all the Skype info to my proper Teams account (MyEmail.at.myISP)? Delete the MS Teams account and all the information now stored there from MyOtherEmail.at.gmail? For some of our colleagues "You're 2h ahead" is displayed but we're all in the same time zone (UTC+01:00, Vienna, DST)... Time zone is equal for all of us in: Windows system settings Outlook/Exchange office.com Even so, some of us living in the past...
