This package provides functionality from the ClickHouse database which is the reason that it includes ao large binaries.
We're not able to remove old releases because it is a depencency of TinyBird's publicly available CLI: https://www.tinybird.co/docs/cli/install
Since old CLI installations exist in many TinyBird's users CI systems and pipelines, those old versions may be reinstalled and it the corresponding clickhouse-toolset release is not found in pipy they would fail.
Each release must support the OS and python versions required by the users of the CLI, currently we provide wheels for Linux and macOS for python 3.8-3.13.
How large is each release?
~280 MB total
12 Linux and macOS wheels for python 3.8, 3.9, 3.10, 3.11, 3.12 and 3.13 about 24MB each.
We've excluded all ClickHouse dependencies that we could to support the required functionality, we've not been able not reduce the 24MB per wheel further, and we need to support all those OS/Python combinations.
How frequently do you make a release?
On average not more than one per month.
