I wonder if it would be useful for the user to provide, in addition to linting, some static analysis. For example something like https://clang-analyzer.llvm.org/ , which has some plugins compatible with the VSC ecosystem: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=jbenden.c-cpp-flylint .
